Leak Detection

Leak Detection

Radiotracer is the ideal method for testing underground pipeline for possible leaks. The emitted gamma radiations from a radioactive tracer penetrate the wall of the pipe with the result that radiation detectors can be placed on the outside of the system, unlike alternative measurement methods which require installation inside the system. By selectively positioning radiation detectors on pipe system, one can accurately follow the progress of an injected tracer through the process system. This technique focused to investigate the fluid flow behaviour in order to determine liquid flow anomalies or problems by tagging the liquid media using radioactive substance. Thus, the reduce detection of radioactive tracer will resulting occurrence of leakages along the pipeline and radiation monitoring will locate the leakage section and potential area of leaks.
